The Protos 380STD V2 is a high-performance 380-class electric-powered RC helicopter that can adopt a wide range of brushless motors and electronics; therefore - either „straight out of the box“ or with optional parts added - it will meet the requirements of a beginner pilot as well as a seasoned 3D pilot and it is ready to work with their favourite and well-tested equipment. Many design concepts from the Protos 700 Maxx V2 have been downsized and included in the Protos 380, such as the “Gorilla” undercarriage, external belt tensioner, double belt style transmission or magnetic canopy mounting system. Other updates: new frames provide different servo geometry and weight bias towards the front of the heli for improved CG; large ESC compartment, the latest rigid tail blades are included providing better tail performance and control authority under demanding 3D flight.

Recommended main rotor blades: 325–380 mm carbon.
Recommended RC set: At least 6-channel computer transmitter w. heli program.
Recommended cyclic servos: Micro size (23 mm case length), like MKS HV93, DS95, KAVAN GO-1020MG, GO-1021MG
Recommended tail servo: Micro size (23 mm case length), like MKS HV93i, DS95i, KAVAN GO-1021MG or Mini size (35 mm case length) - like MKS HV9780, KAVAN GO-11T46MG, Futaba S9257.
Flybarless control unit: Futaba CGY760R, CGY755, Bavarian Demon BD 3X, BD AXON, etc.
Suitable motor: 28xx, 30xx, 32xx size brushless outrunner (Ø5 mm shaft) 800–1000KV for 6S LiPo. Like XL Power XL3215 920KV for 6S LiPo or similar.
ESC suitable for sport flying: 50–70A heli brushless ESC, like Hobbywing Platinum PRO 60A V4 or similar.
ESC suitable for 3D and extreme 3D flying: 80–90A heli brushless ESC, like Hobbywing Platinum 80A V4 or similar.
Flight pack: 6S LiPo 1800–2200 mAh min. 60C, battery compartment dimensions 115×40×35 mm.
The kit contents: The complete set of the mechanic/airframe parts, tail rotor blades and manual; not included: main rotor blades, brushless motor and electronics.
