XLPOWER Specter 700 V2 Nitro Ultimate – nitro power under precise control
The XLPOWER Specter 700 V2 Nitro Ultimate is a 700-class RC helicopter for pilots looking to combine
the character of a large nitro model with precise modern 3D mechanics. The V2 Ultimate develops the original Specter Nitro through changes to the clutch, frame and tail system. It provides a considered foundation for a high-performance helicopter powered by a .90–1.05 engine.
The drivetrain features a
factory-balanced clutch assembly with taper-fit alignment and an extended precision shaft component. The starter coupling is positioned outside the bearing to help prevent the assembly from loosening. A 139-tooth main gear and 17-tooth pinion produce an 8.17:1 main gear ratio. The CNC-machined main gear is designed to remain rigid during power transmission.
The carbon frame incorporates a reinforced left side plate with fewer openings around the front servo area. The 7075-T6 aluminium rotor head uses
1:1 control geometry with a 120° cyclic servo layout. A 15 mm main shaft and 10 mm feathering shaft complete the robust mechanical foundation. Recommended main blade length is 685–716 mm.
The tail assembly adopts the teetering hub from the electric Ultimate and uses curved damping washers with O-rings to absorb small vibrations. The fuel tank holds
600 ml. For maintenance, the engine can be removed through the bottom of the frame, while side access simplifies fan and clutch servicing. A white tail boom, landing gear and vertical fin give this generation its distinctive appearance.
