The SKY RC S65 65W is a small, versatile, AC-powered charger that is easy to use for charging all types of rechargeable batteries at home. The S65 allows you to charge and discharge common battery types (NiCd, NiMH, Li-poly, Li-ion, Li-Fe, LiHV, Pb); it also features a built-in four-channel balancer that ensures very safe and convenient charging of lithium batteries.

It stands out from standard 50W chargers thanks to its truly intelligent software, which offers features previously found only in “machines” in much higher price ranges:

  • setting the cut-off voltage for charging and discharging lithium batteries (allows for gentler charging, which pilots prefer, or, conversely, aggressive overcharging, favored by “car model enthusiasts”)
  • measurement of total voltage and individual cell voltages (for lithium batteries) even outside of charging/discharging
  • measurement of internal resistance of the entire pack and individual cells (for lithium batteries)
  • Program for charging lead-acid AGM batteries and charging lead-acid batteries at low temperatures

  • The charger is equipped with an XT60 output socket and a universal socket for JST-XH service connectors, allowing you to directly connect battery power cables and JST-XH service connectors for 2-6S packs—if you use packs with XT60 and JST-XH connectors, you can do entirely without charging cables and adapters. To connect service connectors from other systems, you can use standard Sky RC or RC System adapters, from which you cut off the part of the output connector with contacts for channels 5 and 6.

In the charger’s software, you can choose whether to use the balancer during charging/discharging. If you select to use the balancer and connect the lithium battery pack being charged via the service connector, you can monitor the voltage of individual cells throughout the entire charging or discharging process, and the built-in balancer will balance the voltage across the individual cells. The charger is equipped with a socket for JST-XH service connectors.

You can purchase a temperature sensor to measure the temperature of batteries being charged or discharged.

Note: When charging lead-acid batteries, the charger uses a cut-off voltage of 2.40 V/cell (or 2.46 V/cell in the AGM battery program and the cold-charge program) – for this reason, it is suitable for charging conventional lead-acid batteries (car batteries) and gel batteries with a reversible valve. It is not suitable for charging gas-tight gel batteries, which must not be charged to more than 2.30 V/cell.
