XLPOWER Stratos 200 – compact size with carefully designed mechanics
The XLPOWER Stratos 200 brings
design principles from large 3D helicopters into the compact 200 class. The two-blade version combines straightforward mechanics with electric power and equipment that simplifies model completion. It is intended for pilots who want a small helicopter for aerobatic practice while retaining the freedom to choose their own flybarless controller and radio system.
The rotor head features
1:1 control geometry and a 120° cyclic servo layout. Equal-length control links and a short, reverse-mounted phasing arm draw on the design of larger XLPOWER models. Factory-centred servos and a level swashplate reduce the initial mechanical setup work. Two head damping options allow the rotor's response to be tailored to the chosen head speed and flying style.
Gearless direct drive of the main rotor removes the need to adjust main gear and pinion mesh. The package includes an integrated power system with a Hobbywing Platinum V5 ESC, DS4208 servos and 195 mm Azure Power main blades with matching tail blades. The manufacturer specifies 3S 750 mAh or 4S 650 mAh LiPo batteries with an XT30 connector.
For maintenance, a
plug-in tail boom with integrated electrical contacts simplifies replacement, while replaceable blade grip arms are designed as sacrificial components in a crash. A low, wide landing gear provides a stable stance on the ground. Completion requires a compatible flybarless controller supporting motor-driven tail control, a receiver and a flight battery.
