Description

CG Gauge

The SkyRC CG Gauge is a device for weighing model airplanes and determining their center of gravity. It works on the same principle as devices used for real airplanes—a weighing module is placed under the landing gear wheels to measure the load on each wheel. The RC Gears app on a smartphone connected via Bluetooth to all the weighing modules then displays the load on each wheel and the model’s total weight. Based on these measurements, after entering the wheelbase and the desired center of gravity position, the app displays the actual center of gravity position. The app also recommends the necessary weight of additional ballast to be placed at the selected location.

The CG Gauge set includes three weighing modules, each with a maximum capacity of 20 kg (with an accuracy of ±3 g). Each module is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery (you can use a standard 5 V smartphone charger with a USB Type-C cable to recharge it).

After turning on the power, all modules connect via Bluetooth to a smartphone or tablet (Android or iOS) running the RC Gears app. The scales are zeroed, you select whether the model has a nose-mounted tricycle landing gear or a tail-mounted landing gear, and then place the model’s individual wheels on the weighing modules. Note: To determine the center of gravity, the model must be in a horizontal position.

Based on the specified wheelbase, the distance from the center of gravity to the axis of the main wheels, and the distance from the load point to the axis of the main wheels, the app then determines the actual position of the center of gravity and recommends the amount of weight that needs to be added (or removed) at the selected location.

Angle Gauge

The SkyRC Angle Gauge is a device for measuring angles and the magnitude of control surface deflections on model airplanes. It consists of three sensor modules capable of measuring relative or absolute angles, which are attached to the trailing edges of the control surfaces or to other desired locations on the model. Using the RC Gears app on a smartphone connected via Bluetooth to all sensor modules, you can then measure control surface deflections either as angles in degrees or as distances in mm.

The Angle Gauge kit includes three sensor modules capable of measuring angles with an accuracy of 0.2° and deflections with an accuracy of 0.1 mm. Each module is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery (you can use a standard 5 V smartphone charger with a USB Type-C cable to recharge it).

After powering on, all modules connect via Bluetooth to a smartphone or tablet (Android or iOS) running the RC Gears app; you then select the measurement mode (angles/deflection values) and the measurement method (absolute, relative). Depending on the selected measurement method, for example, one of the modules can serve as a reference, and the remaining two will measure angles relative to the position of the reference module (this can also be used to measure the angle of attack or motor misalignment), etc. You can easily measure the deflections of paired surfaces (ailerons, flaps, elevator halves) simultaneously and precisely adjust and align them.

The CG Gauge + Angle Gauge set includes: 3 weighing modules, 3 sensor modules, a USB Type-C charging cable, and an instruction manual.
