KAVAN Sling MINI 616mm ARF

Everybody can fly our new SLING Mini - and almost everywhere! You will enjoy this small RC discus launch glider made of the virtually unbreakable EPO foam and carbon composites in your backyard, as well as on a trip. Just take at least a channel radio with a miniature S.BUS or DSM2 compatible receiver, and you can be airborne right away. And the discus launching will improve your fitness quite nicely!

The SLING Mini has a front part of the fuselage with a removable canopy made of a plastic moulding, the tail boom is made of a carbon tube. The nose houses the receiver's 1S LiPo battery 170 mAh and the electronics board with two rudder and elevator servos and an S.BUS/DSM2 decoder is located in the cockpit. The elevator and rudder are controlled by wire push rods running inside the tail boom.

The wing is made of virtually unbreakable EPO foam with a carbon main spar and plastic wing tip plates, each with three holes prepared for a carbon pin for a disc launch. The model can be launched equally easily by right-handed and left-handed pilots; by moving the pin position relative to the centre of gravity, you can optimise the model's behaviour during launch with regard to the strength of the wind and your swing. The wing is secured to the fuselage with two plastic screws, so the entire model can be packed into a fairly small volume for a walking trip or holidays abroad.

The empennage is also made of EPO foam.

You will need at least 4-channel radio with a miniature receiver (that would work on 1S LiPo reliably) featuring the S.BUS or DSM2 serial output. Simply plug the receiver into the corresponding input of the electronic board in the model - the channel assignment of the decoder is fixed - CH2 elevator, CH4 rudder.

The receiver and servos are powered by a miniature 1S LiPo 3.7V 170 mAh battery, which can be easily charged with the USB charger also included with the model.

You can launch the SLING Mini in the regular manner, but the real fun starts with the discus launch, which is how "adult" competition RC hand launch gliders are getting in the air today. The instructions include a mini comic strip - a detailed description of the correct discus launch procedure. So you don't have to worry about not mastering the correct technique to swing your SLING Mini really high!
