KAVAN two-stroke engines are an excellent choice for any „Sunday flyer’s“ sporty, aerobatic and scale model aircraft. Reliable operation and very easy running-in and fine-tuning make them, in the best sense of the word, „consumer's“ engines that everybody can afford to buy and fly. Given adequate care and maintenance, they will reliably power your models for many years to come.
KAVAN AP09A is a two-stroke engine with a glow plug of classic ABC design (Aluminium piston - Brass liner - Chromed), ideal for small model aircraft of all kinds. It is equipped with a single-needle RC carburettor; the set also includes a muffler.
The crankshaft has an M5 propeller nut/bolt thread.
Recommended propeller:
Running-in: 7×4"
Sportster: 7×3"
Recommended fuel tank: 50–60 ml.
Recommended fuel: For break-in, use fuel with 20 % castor oil and 10 % nitromethane. After break-in, you can switch to fuel with 20 % castor oil (or a mixture with at least 16 % castor oil and the addition of synthetic oil) and 15–35 % nitromethane. The recommended nitromethane content is necessary for reliable operation; using fuel with synthetic oil only is not recommended (does not guarantee sufficient engine cooling).
Recommended glow plug: KAVAN GP-1, O.S. MAX No.6 (ex-A3), KAVAN PRO K1.
Engine set includes: engine with RC carburettor and muffler, instruction manual.
