The Alpha is a universal motor glider that will introduce you to the world of advanced flying. She is lightweight yet robust, with large wing surfaces. You will learn to hunt thermals, glide on a slope, and also perform aerobatics at throttle. In confident hands, she can also become quite wild, so if you already know and can handle all this, you will appreciate her high performance and agility for large deflections.
News and improvements
She is still the good old Alpha. The proven design remains the same, just with a touch of tuning. She has a more durable wing joiner and new ball links on all rods. Now, she is also controlled by reliable GO-09 Plus servos. There is also a plastic cover on the winglets that will protect them from damage both during transport and landing.
Full throttle
The electric drive is powered by a pre-installed C2217-1200 brushless motor, including an 8×6" folding propeller. Under the canopy with a magnetic lock, there is also a 30A KAVAN R-30B Plus ESC. Next to it, you can easily store a 3S LiPo battery with a capacity of 1000–1300 mAh. And of course, a suitable 4-channel, ideally 5-channel receiver.
Just the right size
The wings have a span of a pleasant 1492 mm and a wing surface of 21.8 dm². The length is 985 mm, and the flight weight is approximately 780–810 g. Assembling and disassembling the Alpha is literally a matter of minutes. Only 2 screws for the wings. The tail surfaces also have two screws, but if they are removed, be prepared to deal with two ball links.
Shines even at noon
The surface design is completely new, including two colour schemes. You can choose between vibrant shades of fresh green or dark red. Both variants are perfectly visible under all conditions. If that’s not enough, the wings have a pair of powerful, really bright LED lights. You won’t get lost even at dusk.
ALPHA 1500 V2 comes in a new, improved version and new colourful livery now. Although she might look the same at first view, upon closer examination, you will find a bunch of changes making the flying and everyday maintenance much nicer and easier. To name a few – new KAVAN GO-09 Plus digital servos, all-ball-linked control linkages, or a new wing joiner. A powerful brushless motor with a new generation 30 A ESC and 3S LiPo offers enough power not just for regular motor glider flying but also for a good deal of aerobatic stunts. Your ALPHA 1500 V2 will “grow up“ along with you and your improving pilot skills, whilst an experienced pilot will find her a lot of fun from the first minute!
ALPHA 1500V2 is an elegant motor glider powered by a brushless motor featuring aileron, elevator, and rudder control. Rugged, yet light, airframe made of virtually unbreakable EPO foam makes her crash-proof – or at least easy to repair if something really serious happened. Lightweight LiPo flight pack offers a lot of energy; you can use any at least 4-channel RC set to control the model. ALPHA 1500V2 is simply here to give you as trouble-free a flight experience as possible.
The EPO foam fuselage comes with the C2217-1200 brushless motor, KAVAN R-30B Plus ESC (with enhanced programming capabilities), and elevator and rudder servos installed. The detachable canopy is secured with a magnetic lock. The 8.5×6” folding propeller uses standard 8×6” blades (the increased overall diameter is due to a longer yoke used). The cooling air intakes on both sides of the nose keep the motor, ESC, and flight battery nice and cool; the air outlet is located on the bottom of the fuselage. The two-piece EPO wing with carbon main spars is supplied with two aileron servos and their linkage installed. The EPO empennage is detachable, secured with two bolts. The elevator and rudder are controlled by a pair of wire push rods.
Preparing for the first flight is a breeze: attach and secure the horizontal and vertical tailplane with two bolts, join the wing haves and secure with two bolts, connect the servos and ESC to your receiver, connect your flight pack – that’s all folks!
You will need at least a 4-channel RC set to control your ALPHA 1500 V2. Using a computer radio featuring some advanced set-up options and mixes is always an advantage; you can have independent control of both aileron servos, allowing for aileron differential and airbrake mixing. Dual rates or exponentials can make the model control much easier as well.
You will need an 11.1 V 1000–1300 mAh LiPo flight pack (at least 20C) to fly your ALPHA 1500 V2.
ALPHA 1500 V2 is suitable for beginners (under the guidance of a skilled pilot, do not try to start all alone, please!) – as well as any Sunday flyer or anybody who just wants to have some fun. The default setup makes her a gentle and docile model, offering a good way to learn and improve your flying skills step by step. You will learn the correct and timely way of stick handling, coordinated turns using ailerons, elevator, and rudder simultaneously...everything you will need with your next model - a large glider, an aerobatic plane, a (semi)scale model. The linkage design, as well as the transmitter with PC or Android/iOS application setting options, makes the adjustment easy. A beginner can start with small and safe servo throws, while an experienced pilot may opt for larger servo throws and aerobatic stunts. Loops, barrel rolls, and stall turns are easy with your ALPHA 1500 V2 thanks to the powerful motor. The motor makes the thermal hunting easy as well, gaining a nice altitude takes just a moment – now you can just relax and soar!
