The TLD001 is a smart temperature logger capable of connecting via Bluetooth to the RC Gears app. It can measure and record the temperature of the ESC, motor, drive battery, and other accessories within a range of -20°C to 210°C. Using the RC Gears app, you can view the temperature log as a graph, as well as previously recorded measurements. Data can be shared as a screenshot or an Excel file. You can use the logger during training and when tuning your model’s power unit; since measurements are taken in offline mode, it’s also suitable for competitions where the use of RC system telemetry functions that provide real-time data is not permitted.
A pair of thermocouple sensors is available for measurement, so you can measure and record temperature simultaneously at two locations—for example, on the motor and the ESC at the same time. The thermocouple sensor is attached to the object being measured using the included copper self-adhesive tape—this is suitable for temperatures up to 100°C. To attach the sensor to objects with temperatures higher than 100°C, you must use special Kapton heat-resistant tape, which is commonly available at electronics component stores.
Using the RC Gears app, you can set the measurement parameters for both sensors—the measurement duration between 1 and 60 minutes and the sampling interval (which can be 1 to 5 seconds if the measurement duration is less than 30 minutes; for measurement durations longer than 30 minutes, the sampling interval can be 2 to 5 seconds). The data logger is powered by a 3 V CR2450 lithium button cell battery.
It connects to the app via Bluetooth 5.0 with a range of up to 15 m; the connection is indicated by an LED. You can load the recorded data into the RC Gears app (Android and iOS), view it as a graph, save it for later analysis or archiving, and export it as a screenshot or an Excel file.
The thermologger set includes: TLD001 data logger with a pair of sensors, a CR2450 battery, self-adhesive copper tape, and instructions.
